APRIL: ALL THE THINGS
Wrapping up the month with what I bought, wore, have my eye on, and a few ideas for Mother's Day gifts.

New jeans - real and faux, last chance Event Dresses before I update the collection, styles on my Inspiration Board and a Mother’s Day Gift Guide. Read on for the details…
BUYING:

Frame has nailed a classic, straight leg jean. It’s The Borrowed and feels exactly like the name implies. A little worn with a nod to classic Levi’s 501, but better. Better fit. Better give. Better everything. Sitting a little lower on the waist, hitting at the sweet spot above the ankle, and fabricated with enough cotton to give them structure while allowing for a tiny bit of stretch. They’re so good I bought them in two washes - white and a faded blue denim. They stretch out a bit but in a good authentic way.
Other “jeans”: My evenings at home are a routine of a hot bath, making dinner, watching a show or reading, then bedtime. Post bath, I usually put on a pair of sweats and a sweater. That’s fine but I’m bored of the same look over and over. I want to feel relaxed in something soft like sweats, but not actual sweats. I reluctantly ordered the Rag & Bone Miramar jeans thinking they would be weird (they’re printed). They’re actually really good. They’re loose, comfortable and performing as I hoped giving my evenings at home, lounge around outfits an update. Visually, you can’t tell they’re fabricated from a soft, almost sweat pant like fabric, with a terry like interior. I wouldn’t think twice to wear them out and about. They run VERY big and there are a few silhouettes to choose from. Mine have functioning front pockets which make them feel even more authentic.
SUMMER SANDALS: Meanwhile, I treated myself to these pretty Chanel sandals. They’ll be perfect for summer. I love the natural tan footbed with contrast stitching. It gives them a chic, casual vibe and looks cool juxtaposed with the hammered gold hardware.
A MOTHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE

I think of my mom when I put this together. Many of the items are similar to what I gave her over the years and I know she loved them. Beautiful scarves, luxurious lotions and skin care, little boxes to hold treasures…things she appreciated but wouldn’t necessarily splurge on for herself. I personally love to receive books, and I end up gifting my favorites. Currently, that’s Interiors for a Life in Good Taste by Caroline Gidiere. It’s a book to get lost in visually with the type of details and layers I love to study. Then, there’s always experiences to give. Tickets to a show, or garden visit…or stay at home and have fun with a Blind Tasting Kit from Argaux. It’s time well spent.
ON MY INSPIRATION BOARD:
Color for spring…the buzz word is butter yellow, but I’m loving blue. Specifically a crisp, blue poplin shirt. It’s the one piece to instantly refresh my jeans, pants, and skirts. COS of course is in the game (size down) along with Quince (perfect color), Alex Mill, and The Frankie Shop. And for something with a twist, there’s a scalloped broderie anglaise beauty from La DoubleJ. Read this post on how I plan on styling blue this season.
THIS & THAT:
Mytheresa now ships Prada globally. What this means…one stop shopping for Prada womenswear, menswear and lifestyle collections from a single site. Mytheresa continues to expand in luxury e-commerce after the acquisition of Yoox, Net-A-Porter, Mr. Porter and The Outnet. I’ve been shopping on Mytheresa for very long time and it’s nice to see their growth. I love their selection, editorials, and customer service, so bravo! Now, they need to secure Miu Miu.

Speaking of Miu Miu…I almost kept these. The good…they’re different enough but not screaming look at me. The bad…the Miu Miu logo is a bit much. I’m also not sold on the nylon fabrication either, although that’s what makes them cool. They were returned. Wearing above with my workout uniform just to try on. They’re not athletic shoes by any means.

And when I say workout uniform, I am loyal to black or dark grey. I don’t like to be bothered with what works and what doesn’t. Once I figured out what I’m most comfortable in, I just buy and wear on repeat. Beyond Yoga pants and tops are the softest, and most flattering for me. (Currently 25% off)
EVENT DRESSES UPDATE
Today is the last day to shop or save dresses from the MARCH EVENT DRESSES COLLECTIONS. I’m updating the collections monthly and will be posting a new selection for MAY to keep the shop relevant and timely. I’ll keep the current and previous month’s collections live and edit going forward…APRIL and MAY for now.
Thanks for reading!
